26th annual Coface Country Risk Conference
A 100% digital event streamed from Paris

MANAGING RISK IN A CHANGING WORLD

The year 2021 has been characterized by the continuation of the health crisis, with uncertainties and economic tensions that governments and central banks are trying to curb, and companies that are facing challenges that we thought were behind us... During this Coface event, we will take a look at the stakes, in terms of macro, micro, and sectoral risks, that you will need to face in the coming months.

Alongside Coface's economists, high-level French and international experts from the world of business, finance and economic research will discuss the outlook for the world economy and assess the impact of this environment on companies.

The great divergence: how has the pandemic exacerbated the dichotomy between developed and emerging countries?
 Read more Read less
The effects of the pandemic have varied greatly between developed and emerging countries, with the latter generally having difficulty managing the health crisis due to much more limited fiscal and monetary capabilities, and more difficulties accessing vaccinations.
The recovery is also very uneven, even more so within the "emerging bloc" where situations are very diverse. In many countries, particularly among the less developed, the crisis will have a lasting impact and the scars will take time to fade.
Will the Covid-19 pandemic signal the end of the convergence process as we have known it since the end of the 20th century? Will we return to the "Great Divergence"?

New standards, constraints, taxation, new protectionism... How will the new rules change the game? What is the extent of the changes, and how quickly will they take place?
Which countries & which companies will benefit – or suffer – from this transformation?

2022 Global Economic Outlook: What are the risks that could derail a recovery?
 Read more Read less
After a strong but uneven recovery in 2021, the sky looks darker for 2022, with soaring commodity prices, still-disrupted value chains, persistent inflationary pressures, and the resulting dilemma for monetary and fiscal authorities.
Between fiscal stimulus and monetary tightening, what kind of policy mix can we expect in the United States? To what end?
How significant is the slowdown of the Chinese economy? What will be its impact on the global economy?
A major uncertainty: how will the withdrawal of public support measures affect corporate insolvencies? Is there a risk of “double dip" in Europe?
Which sectors are riding the wave of the recovery, and which ones will face difficulties in the short- and medium-term?
